Walking Tour through the Historical city centre

A guided walking tour through the pedestrian area of the historical city centre of Dresden is a “must” for visitors. In a three hour tour you will get an over- view of the most famous sights of Dresden, such as the Residence Castle, the Semper Opera House, the Zwinger and the Church of our Lady. Good walking shoes and an ability to walk on uneven pavement are recommended.

The “Old masters” Gallery located in the splendid Baroque Zwinger with the world-famous ”Sixtine Madonna” by Raffael is one of the best known painting galleries in Europe. The guide will explain several of the world-famous paintings as well as some interesting pounts of the splendid Zwinger area.The second highlight of the tour is the Semper Opera House. Dresden's former Royal Court Theatre has a turbulent history. The first Opera House at this location was built 1838-41 by the architect Gottfried Semper and became famous as one of the most beautiful theatres in Europe. The second opera house was destroyed in World War II. This is a guided walking tour.

The chirping of birds, the clattering of horses’ hooves and the change from day to night will make your visit to the Panometer in Dresden into a fascinating experience for the senses.

Steam Ship Excursion

There will be a boat cruising on the Elbe river with the biggest and oldest steamboat fleet of the world based in Dresden! Paddle steamer – each more than 100 to 150 years old as well as modern ships in direction to Pillnitz Palace. While listening to Dixieland jazz the guests will pass the old city, the three Elbe castles, the “Blue Wonder” bridge and the vineyards of Dresden.

All-day-Excursion to Meissen and Moritzburg

A trip by coach to the 1000 year old charming town of Meissen, includes a narrated visit of the well-known Meissen Porcelain factory built in the 18th century. In the factory not only the production process of the”White Gold” will be shown, but you will also see the impressive collection of exceptional porcelain masterpieces. There will be an opportunity to make purchases at the factory shop. A guided tour through the historical city will bring you to the late gothic Albrechtsburg Castle in Meissen and to the Cathedral on the citadel hill of Meissen, typical of sacred buildings of the Mid-Gothic age, although its steeples are from the beginning of this century. On our way back to Dresden we will stop at the hunting lodge Moritzburg. The Castle is situated on a small island in a lake. It was originally built as a hunting lodge for the duke of Saxony in 1546 but was renovated in the baroque style in 1730. Lunch will be on everyones own expenses (60 minute Lunch break in Meissen). Much of this tour is in the pedestrian area of the old city and requires the ability to climb steep slopes and steps. Good walking shoes and an ability to walk on uneven pavement are recommended.
